Foundation and subfloor assessment enquiries

Describe what changed. Let the assessment determine why.

Free to send an enquiry. An independent contractor confirms any inspection, fees and quote.

Ask about a house-support concern.

Tell us where the house is and how to reach you. A short note about the problem is helpful, but optional.

How should we contact you?

Trouble sending? Email your enquiry.

Independent enquiry service. Referrals depend on provider availability; submission is not a booking.

Not sure whether the house needs restumping, levelling or another repair? Start with what you have noticed. A short description and your suburb are enough for an initial enquiry.

Symptoms you can describe safely

  • Floors that feel uneven or a noticeable change in level.
  • Doors or windows that have become difficult to operate.
  • Visible gaps, cracks or movement, without trying to identify the cause.
  • Known deterioration, earlier repairs or concerns raised in an existing inspection.

These symptoms do not establish that restumping is needed. Supports, subfloor framing, footing conditions and drainage may need assessment. Cracking in a slab or masonry footing may require a different specialist from a house-stump project.

Restumping and underpinning are different

Restumping generally concerns the supports beneath a raised floor. Underpinning concerns strengthening or extending existing foundations. An independent practitioner determines the appropriate method; the enquiry service does not provide structural advice.

Planning a renovation?

Mention a planned kitchen, bathroom or other renovation so the contractor can discuss the assessment sequence. Include the date of any existing report and whether the work is being planned by the owner, an authorised representative or a builder.

What happens after you enquire?

We review the project details and may ask follow-up questions before a possible referral. The provider decides whether the work is within their scope and discusses any inspection or engineering requirements directly. Referral and appointments depend on availability.

If there is immediate danger or sudden serious movement, do not wait for an online response. Keep clear of the affected area and seek appropriate urgent assistance.
